Cleaning with Microfibre

Cleaning with Microfibre

For those of you who don’t like cleaning with chemicals, but still want a powerful clean, we’re sure you already use microfibre to help you meet these goals. Here are a couple of commonly asked questions with answers, and tips relating to microfibre cleaning.

Why is microfibre superior for cleaning without chemicals?
Ordinary cleaning cloths, mops, etc have fibres that are made of cotton or synthetic material like nylon. But microfibre has far more fibres, and they’re much smaller. Microfibres are able to attach themselves to even the smallest, most microscopic dirt particles – ones that normal cloths and mops brush past.

What’s the best way to use microfibre?
You will want to (out of habit) soak it with water and detergent – both of which will reduce the microfibre effectiveness. Get a better result by using as little water as possible.

Our Microfibre cloths and mop pads can be washed for multiple uses, but there are some care instructions you should be aware of first:
It is recommended that you wash your microfibre items separately from your other items. The reason being, we know microfibres want to pick up everything, and that includes anything coming off other items in the wash.

When it comes to what detergent to use, we suggest a gentle one without any dyes, scents, or additives. And 100% no bleach or fabric softeners. Bleach will ruin the cloth and fabric softeners with clog the fibres.

The water temperature can be cold or warm, but not hot as this will also damage the microfibres.

Cleaning Outdoor Furniture Guide

Freshen up your outdoor furniture ready for entertaining

Before BBQ season begins, you’ll want to clean up your dusty outdoor furniture. Regularly cleaning your outdoor furniture will give you years of comfort and good looks.

Start with making a mixture of warm water and your choice of liquid cleaners (e.g. automotive detergent, dishwashing liquid or all-purpose cleaner) in a general purpose bucket. You can add small amount of bleach to cleaner mixture for white plastic furniture.  The Sabco Xl Flo-Thu Wash Brush is highly recommended for this job because of its simple snap on hose connector, and adjustable water pressure nozzle. Dip the Sabco XL Flo-Thu Wash Brush into the bucket of soapy water as required and scrub.

Leave covered in soap for a few minutes, and rinse well with the Sabco Xl Flo-Thu Wash Brush whilst it is connected to garden hose.

Dry furniture with a Sabco All-Purpose Microfibre cloth for a perfect finish. The same process can be used for aluminium and wooden furniture too, as the Sabco Xl Flo-Thu Wash Brush is made of a super soft flagged bristles for scratch-free cleaning.

Tip 1: For wooden furniture, especially timber furniture, remember to place in the sun to allow it to completely dry. You can use a good quality oil to refinish your timber three to four times a year, depending on how much sun exposure it gets.

Tip 2: Another handy tool for large outdoor clean ups is The Sabco Car Wash Brush. With an extendable handle to 1.5 metres, you can easily use it to clean and wash weatherboards, windows, boats, kid’s playground equipment, cubby houses and more! The Sabco Car Wash Brush also has soft non-scratch bristles and water-fed handle making it easy to swap from wash-to-rinse while cleaning.

Taking good care of your BBQ grill is not only good for your health, but it will help to maintain the taste of what you cook too! Luckily, it only takes a few basic steps to clean your BBQ grill. All you need is a Sabco BBQ Grill Brush and paper towel.

1. Clean while the grill is still hot:
It’s obvious that cleaning is easier while the grill plates are still hot. For that reason, when you want to clean your cooled grill, turn on up the heat for few minutes to soften all the grease and grime for easier cleaning.

2. Get your tools ready:
Sabco’s BBQ brush is an essential tool for your BBQ cleaning. It is perfectly designed with ergonomic rubber grip handle and strong steel scraper for tough heavy duty cleaning. Use the steel scraper to scrape off food leftovers on grill plate and then brush with brass bristle side to clean all remaining spots and grease. At the end, use paper towel to wipe away all the dirt and grease.

3. Cover up your Barbie:
Finally, make sure you keep your grill covered after any cooking, to stop dust and dirt from building up, prevent rust, ants and insects.

Tip*: Place foil under your charcoal grill and after cooking you can simply fold up the ash and remaining coals in the foil and remove them in one easy step.
